Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Merzouga
We leave Fes after breakfast and drive through Ifrane, the Switzerland of Morocco, and the cedar forests near Azrou, home to wild Barbary macaques. Then the route continues through Midelt and the Ziz Valley to Merzouga for dinner and the night by the dunes.

Day 2Merzouga, Khamlia and camel trek
You explore the Erg Chebbi dunes, nomad villages and the desert landscapes, visit Khamlia and its Gnawa musicians and have a traditional Berber lunch in Rissani. After that, in the evening you ride a camel into the dunes for the sunset and spend the night in a desert camp.

Day 3Merzouga – Rissani – Todra Gorge
After the sunrise, you ride back to Merzouga and drive to Rissani, known for its traditional market. The route then passes desert villages, palm groves and the fossil area of Erfoud to the Todra Gorge, where you spend the night.

Day 4Todra Gorge – Dades Valley – Ouarzazate
Today follows the Road of a Thousand Kasbahs through the Dades Valley, the Valley of Roses and the palm grove of Skoura to Ouarzazate for dinner and the night.

Day 5Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
You visit the kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and cross the High Atlas over the Tizi n'Tichka pass to Marrakech, where the tour ends in the evening.
