Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1Fes – Ifrane – Midelt – Merzouga
We leave Fes early in the morning and drive through Ifrane, known as the Switzerland of Morocco, and the cedar forests near Azrou, where wild Barbary macaques often come close to the road. Then the route continues through Midelt and the Ziz Valley to Merzouga. Then in the late afternoon you ride a camel into the dunes at sunset and spend the night in a desert camp with dinner and Berber music.

Day 2Merzouga – Todra Gorge – Ouarzazate
Watch the sunrise over the Sahara, then ride back to Merzouga for breakfast. After that, the road goes west past Tinghir to the Todra Gorge, where you walk between its towering walls. After that, in the afternoon you continue through the Valley of Roses and the palm grove of Skoura to Ouarzazate for dinner and the night.

Day 3Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Marrakech
In the morning you visit the kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You then cross the High Atlas over the Tizi n'Tichka pass and arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon.
