Day-by-day itinerary

Day 1Marrakech – Ait Ben Haddou – Dades Valley
We pick you up in Marrakech in the morning and drive into the High Atlas over the Tizi n'Tichka pass (2,260 m), with photo stops at Berber villages along the way. After that, in the early afternoon you visit Ait Ben Haddou, a fortified village listed by UNESCO and the setting of many famous films. The road then continues past Ouarzazate and through the Valley of Roses to the Dades Valley, where you have dinner and spend the night.

Day 2Dades Valley – Todra Gorge – Merzouga
After breakfast you drive to the Todra Gorge and walk between its red cliffs, up to 300 metres high. The road then crosses palm groves and desert villages to Merzouga. Later, in the late afternoon you ride a camel into the Erg Chebbi dunes to watch the sunset, and spend the night in a Berber camp with dinner, drums and a sky full of stars.

Day 3Merzouga – Atlas Mountains – Marrakech
Wake up early to watch the sunrise from the dunes, then ride back to Merzouga for breakfast and a shower. The return to Marrakech is a long but beautiful drive through the valleys of the south and back over the High Atlas, with stops for lunch and photos. Then you arrive in Marrakech in the evening.
